What is Skin Cancer Management?
Two in three Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70 — and early detection is the single most important factor in successful treatment. Dr Pateel's skin cancer certification means thorough, dermoscopic assessment is available right here at the practice.
Treat or Refer
Benign lesions managed in-practice; suspicious lesions referred promptly for further care.
On-Site Dermoscopy
Magnified examination of individual lesions using a dermatoscope for greater accuracy.
Certified Skin Cancer GP
Dr Ram Pateel holds skin cancer management certification and is experienced in dermoscopic lesion assessment.
Full Body Examination
A thorough head-to-toe skin check, not just the spots you're worried about.
Know What to Look For

Asymmetry & Border
One half doesn't match the other, or edges are ragged, blurred, or irregular.

Colour & Diameter
Uneven colouring — brown, black, red, or white — or larger than 6mm (pencil eraser size).

Evolving
Any spot changing in size, shape, colour, or that starts bleeding or itching.
Who Should Get a Skin Check?

Routine Checks
Adults who haven't had a skin check in the past 12 months, or anyone with fair skin, many moles, or significant lifetime sun exposure.

Higher-Risk Patients
Anyone with a personal or family history of skin cancer or melanoma should be checked regularly and may need more frequent monitoring.
